JOB DESCRIPTION

Welder

We are seeking a skilled welder to join our team. The position involves working Monday through Friday from 5:45 am to 2:15 pm. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of welding techniques and the ability to interpret blueprints and product specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints and product specifications.
  • Perform flat pattern layouts.
  • Utilize hand tools and measuring devices to perform basic tasks.
  • Operate power tools, lathes, mills, and welding equipment for complex tasks.
  • Work both independently and within teams as directed.
  • Solve process issues, including redesigning equipment.
  • Repair process equipment such as pumps, gear reducers, seals, bearings, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, blowers, and conveyors.
  • Support established Preventative Maintenance activities and identify new PM activities, as needed.
  • Assist in the implementation and origination of continuous process improvements.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in welding, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and product specifications.
  • Working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, lathes, mills, and welding/fabrication equipment.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience specializing in fabrication and/or welding.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Good math and analytical skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with cutting torch and plasma cutting.

Work Environment

The role is based in a workshop setting where you will use a range of tools and equipment, including hand tools, power tools, lathes, mills, and welding equipment. The work schedule is from Monday to Friday, 5:45 am to 2:15 pm, providing a stable and predictable work routine.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Smithfield, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
