Perform advanced metal fabrication and modification work including welding, cutting, and brazing in support of the development, maintenance, and modification of advanced mining and construction equipment. Pay DOE $24-28 an hr. plus full benefits

JOB DUTIES:

Apply fabrication skills to perform assembly and modification of many kinds of mining and construction equipment. Support fabrication of tooling and assembly jigs and support maintenance of buildings, equipment, and facilities.

Make safety and health a priority during all work (and home) activities. Engage in culture of safety and participate in efforts and activities to continuously improve the safety of operations.

Perform layout and fabrication work based on work instructions, engineering drawings, specifications, repair manuals, and solid models for assembly and modification of complex fabricated assemblies.

Perform diverse salvage and repair work on machines, facility equipment, and support equipment. Perform brazing, MIG, TIG, stick, and wire feed welding of a variety of materials and parts, in all positions, and with precise heat application and control.

Work with mechanics, engineers, technologists, instrumentation technicians, operators, and logisticians in a collaborative team environment to complete complex mechanical tasks safely, with the highest quality, while meeting project schedules

While working on new products, identify potential issues, potential system and component problems, potential maintainability problems, and potential failure modes. Communicate observations and findings to engineers and (diplomatically) make suggestions for improvement

Provide input to supervisor and team for continuous improvement (CI) and capital projects to improve safety, quality, velocity, and cost. Aid supervisor in the implementation of other employee's CI ideas

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Must be able to work continuously on one's feet for 8 to 10 hours per day in a variety of environmental conditions (i.e. inside/outside, hot/cold/inclement weather, dusty environment)

Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to build positive working relationships with coworkers and customers

Able to use a personal computer to access work management systems and documents and basic proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).

Willingness and ability to pass pre-employment, random, and post-incident drug and alcohol screening.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Five years of experience as a welder in the fabrication and repair of heavy structures and industrial components.

Formal education, certificate, or degree in welding, automotive maintenance, heavy machinery, or diesel technology.

Ability to read blueprints.

Experience welding on mining and construction equipment and components including haul trucks, shovels, excavators, loaders, tractors, and motor graders
