These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, debug, and optimize CMM inspection programs from CAD models and engineering drawings.Interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T specifications, and quality requirements.Select appropriate probes, fixtures, and measurement strategies for various part geometries.Conduct first-article inspections, correlation studies, and validate CMM programs for accuracy.Generate comprehensive inspection reports, analyze measurement data, and identify non-conformances.Troubleshoot and resolve CMM program issues, measurement discrepancies, and equipment errors.Collaborate with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure measurement needs are met.Recommended QualificationsProficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS).Strong understanding and application of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).Ability to interpret complex engineering blueprints and 3D CAD models.Proven experience in developing, validating, and optimizing CMM inspection programs.Knowledge of various measurement techniques and metrology best practices.Bonus QualificationsProficiency with advanced CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) for model review and manipulationExperience with other metrology equipment such as vision systems, laser scanners, or optical comparatorsKnowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles and software for data analysisAbility to design or procure custom CMM fixtures and workholding solutionsJob Titles That Should ApplyCMM Programmer, Coordinate Measuring Machine Programmer, Metrology Engineer, Dimensional Metrology Technician, CMM Operator, Quality Inspector (CMM), Inspection ProgrammerWhy Pivot GroupThe Pivot Group was founded by manufacturing professionals who've been on both sides of the hiring process.
