By connecting with Pivot Group, you position yourself for roles that match your background and aspirations.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, validate, and optimize CMM inspection programs using specified software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso).Interpret complex engineering drawings, 3D models, and GD&T specifications to create accurate inspection routines.Select appropriate CMM probes, fixtures, and measurement strategies for various part geometries and tolerances.Perform first-article inspections, in-process checks, and final product verifications using CMMs.Analyze CMM measurement data, generate reports, and communicate results to relevant departments.Troubleshoot CMM program errors, measurement discrepancies, and equipment issues.Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality engineers to optimize part design for inspectability and resolve quality issues.Recommended QualificationsProficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS).Expert ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).Solid understanding of metrology principles, measurement techniques, and inspection methodologies.Experience with various CMM hardware, probing systems, and fixture design.Familiarity with manufacturing processes and quality control standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for program development and data analysis.Bonus QualificationsProficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) for model interpretation and analysis.Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data analysis.Familiarity with other advanced metrology equipment (e.g., laser scanners, vision systems).Experience in designing inspection fixtures or a background in machining.Job Titles That Should ApplyCMM Programmer, Metrology Programmer, CMM Technician, Quality Inspector CMM, Dimensional Metrology Programmer, Quality Control Programmer, Inspection Programmer, CMM Specialist, Measurement Programmer, CMM Operator ProgrammerWhy Pivot GroupThe Pivot Group was founded by manufacturing professionals who've been on both sides of the hiring process.
