Position Summary:With general guidance from the Quality Assurance Manager, employee uses basic knowledge of production process and mathematical capacities to help the quality department (and facility) meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI). ResponsibilitiesQuality Intern Responsibilities:Conducts process / product inspections as directed by the Quality Manager.Inspects product visually and using inspection equipment to verify conformance to customer requirementsConducting inspections of purchased incoming material using inspection equipmentInterpret and record dataAssists with maintaining and updating gagesAssists with maintaining gage calibrationCollecting and organizing measurement data and other documentation to support customer PPAP requirementsAssists with inception and maintenance of controlled documents for all Oconee processesAssists with root cause analysis of non-conforming productAnalyze internal failures to determine cause and suggest improvements that willprevent recurrenceAssist with analyzing customer returns to determine cause and suggest improvements that will prevent recurrenceDocument and communicate resultsAssists with collecting data for machine capability studiesOther special duties and responsibilities as assignedQualificationsQuality Intern Qualifications:Currently pursuing a 4-year Industrial Engineering degree. Demonstrate an ability in problem solving skills, including being able to identify, investigate and countermeasure manufacturing or supplier related technical and / or systemic issues.Possess the ability to be self-directed.Able to build effective teams and the ability to work with suppliers, plant manufacturing, and purchasing to ensure the deliverables are met.Experience with manufacturing processes for components.Experience with automotive components and functional requirementsMust be authorized to work in the United States.
