JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Description Job Description
Welder / Fabricator / Assembly
Location: Fenton, MO Type: Full-time
About the Role
We're a small warehouse-based operation looking for a hands-on welder/fabricator who can take a project from raw material to finished assembly. This is a versatile role for someone who enjoys variety-you'll be running the lathe one hour, programming the CNC laser the next, and welding up assemblies after that. If you like solving problems on the shop floor and taking ownership of your work, you'll fit in well here.
What You'll Do
- Operate a pulsed MIG welder to fabricate and assemble parts to spec, with clean, structurally sound welds
- Run the CNC laser cutter, including loading material, setting up jobs, and performing routine machine maintenance
- Use the lathe for turning, facing, threading, and other machining operations as needed
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and CAD files to plan cuts, fabrication sequences, and assembly steps
- Measure, cut, grind, drill, and prep material for welding and assembly
- Assemble finished components, verify dimensions and tolerances, and inspect work for quality
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and keep equipment in good working order
- Communicate with team members on job priorities, material needs, and any issues that come up
What We're Looking For
- Hands-on experience with pulsed MIG welding and the ability to produce quality welds on a range of materials and thicknesses
- Comfortable operating a manual or CNC lathe
- Experience setting up and running a CNC laser (or strong willingness to be trained on ours)
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Solid measuring and layout skills-comfortable with calipers, micrometers, squares, and tape
- Self-directed; able to work through a job list without constant oversight
- Physically able to lift, bend, stand, and handle material throughout the shift
- Safety-minded approach to shop work
Nice to Have
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software for laser programming
- Background in equipment, machinery, or industrial product manufacturing
- Forklift experience
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive hourly pay based on experience
- Paid time off
- Steady hours in a small-team environment where your work is visible and valued
