Part-time10a-3pMonday thru ThursdayJOB SUMMARYAssists residents with walking to prevent accidents by falling and transports non-ambulatory resident using a wheelchair. Responsible for following instructions and carrying out assignments properly. Supportive of the Villages mission values and service/hospitality (PRIDE) expectations. Completes training as required by policy.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSEscorts residents to dining room beauty shop therapy and other activities in a safe and efficient manner.Determines residents name destination mode of travel time and other data following written or oral instructions.Handles stress well and gets along with others within the workplace and with customers outside the department.Maintains acceptable standards of workplace conduct.Adheres to all safety regulations and requirements.The responsibilities described above represent the primary responsibilities of the job. Other responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor as warranted by business needs. The incumbent is expected to perform all assigned responsibilities.ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONSEducation: No education requirements.Licenses/Certifications:No licensure requirements.Knowledge and Skills (required unless otherwise noted):Must have completed application independently.Must have ability to follow instructions.Must have excellent time management skills.Must have multitasking abilities.Awareness of cost control responsibilities of the position within the DepartmentAbility to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.No writing skills required.Ability to speak in simple sentences.Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.Special Working ConditionsPrimarily works with residents in long term care rehab and memory care work environments.The associate is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.The associate is subject to noise: There is sufficient noise to cause the associate to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.Works in close proximity to moving mechanical parts.The associate is subject to vibration: Exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body.The associate is required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.The associate is exposed to infectious diseases.The associate is required to function around individuals with challenged mental capacities.All associates may be called upon to assist other departments in a declared emergency situation.Physical and Mental DemandsThe physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
