CALVERT COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLSPrince Frederick Maryland 20678NOTICE OF VACANCYINTERNAL CANDIDATES ONLYJanuary 15 2025 POSITION:WHES DramaClub Sponsor (Job # 2832)Location:Windy HillElementarySchoolJOB SUMMARY:The club sponsor develops and implements new clubs in consultation with the principal and based on the needs of the students and the school. This employee is the representative of the principal to ensure that the designated club has a reflective representation of the school community. The sponsor will work with students in an after-school setting to address areas of need and to provide students with a variety of experiences that support their development as students and individuals in society. Clubs can include but are not limited to sports fine arts dance special interest service and community projects.REPORTS TO: School PrincipalQUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:Excellent oral and written communication skillsDemonstrated management leadership and human relations skillsAbility to exercise good judgment in making decisionsProven ability to carry an assignment to its completionDemonstrated success in accomplishing tasks akin to the duties and responsibilities listed belowSuch alternatives to the above qualifications as the Calvert County Public Schools may find appropriate and acceptableDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Work with the principal to establish guidelines that are appropriate for the specific club that will be sponsored.Establish meeting dates for the club and develop a plan to communicate those dates to the student body such that enrollment is open to a broad spectrum of the student population.Meetings should occur on at least a monthly basis for the agreed upon duration of the club.Collaborate with the principal on the completion of any special projects or products that result from the club activity.Be responsible for recording accurately all monies collected for events and for promptly turning monies and records of monies to the principals designee.Schedule club events in accordance with school policies.Secure sufficient staff to chaperone and to supervise club activities and events as appropriate.OTHER DUTIES:Performs related work as required or assigned by the Principal and/or Activities Director.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Position requires significant periods of standing and walking and is performed in a typical school environment.UNUSUAL DEMANDS: NoneTERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience applied to the current year Extra Pay for Extra Duty Longevity Pay Schedule.FLSA STATUS: ExemptEVALUATION:Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the policy on evaluation as established by the Calvert County Public Schools.EFFECTIVE DATE OF POSITION:Date of HireAPPLICATION PROCEURE:Applicants please apply through the Applicant Tracking system located on the Calvert County Public Schools website This position remains open until filled. Employment is conditional upon successful completion of a drug screen.
