Full-timeDescriptionJOB SUMMARY:Provide ongoing supervision to all Nutritionists WIC medical assistants and WIC clerk. Provides nutrition information and education materials designed to improve health status achieve position change in dietary habits and emphasize relationships between nutrition and health all in keeping with the individuals personal cultural and socioeconomic preferences. The nutritionist performs nutrition assessments of WIC participants prenatal patients and any CCAP patient referred by CCAP providers.WORK SCHEDULE DEMANDS:This is a full-time position 40 hours per week and must be available to work evenings on Wednesdays.Nutritionist must stay to ensure proper reporting and customer service.Must be willing to drive between Cranston and Coventry locations when necessary.RequirementsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:WIC program experienceBS Degree in Nutrition and DieteticsLicensure in State of Rhode Island required when providing non-WIC nutrition servicesBasic computer knowledgeSkilled in anthropometric and hematological (lead and iron) measuresOSHA trainingMust review studies and keep updated with appropriate nutrition materials.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:ClinicalEvaluates nutritional status of WIC and CCAP patientsProvides nutrition education to achieve a positive change in dietary habitsCounsels therapeutic diets for CCAP patientsProblem solves patient related concerns and refers appropriatelyAssigns food packages on individual basis to WIC participantsAdministrativeTroubleshoots computer problems with QWIC systemAccountable for patient flow and client satisfaction of WIC office in absence of WIC CoordinatorParticipated in JCAHO work groups WIC staff meetings Health Center staff meetings.Ensures compliance with State / Federal JCAHO standardsOSHA and Infection control standardsSupervise the flow of WIC patientsProvide ongoing supervision to all WIC staffHold regular WIC staff meetingsParticipate in JCAHO quality improvement committee meetingsPrepare WIC annual planPrepare monthly WIC reportsWith Fiscal Manager and Director prepare and monitor WIC budgetSupervise all outreach efforts for WICAct as liaison between WIC and StateCCAP strives to cultivate and sustain a workforce devoted to providing compassionate and respectful care to all patients and clients.
