Everyone at Prysmian has the potential to make their mark; because whatever you do, wherever you are based, you will be part of a company that is helping transform the world around us.Make Your Mark at Prysmian Group - Join UsThe Controls Engineer will be expected to safely provide control engineering services to the Williamsport plant by developing and maintaining PLC and HMI programs and documentation that control manufacturing processes, support equipment, and the facility. Additional duties include the support of electrical safety, improving equipment efficiency, inspecting, repairing, adjusting, and maintaining all plant electrical systems. Support the modernization, rebuild, repair, and overhaul of electronic & electrical equipment/controls. Troubleshooting and restoring equipment to operation. Commissioning of new equipment and other duties as assigned.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Exemplary performance of all duties in a safe and responsible mannerNFPA 70E arc flash managementDevelop and maintain AC/DC electrical schematicsInstall and support PLC/HMI based hardware and software via design, programming, and troubleshootingDevelop all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment, and machineryScope, plan, and execute projectsProvide field engineering and commissioningAssist others in the design of products/processes/equipment/systemsTroubleshoot and correct equipment issuesCritical activities/skills include:Bachelor's degree in electrical or controls engineering or 5 years of field experienceComply with all applicable EHS/safety procedures and ISO guidelinesExcellent planning, communication, and organizational skillsDetail oriented with proven analytical, problem identification, and resolution skillsAbility to contribute to the team's culture of continuous improvementExperience with programming and troubleshooting Rockwell (AB) and Siemens PLC'sExperience in PLC programming utilizing IEC programming languages including Ladder, Sequential functional charts, Structured text, and Functional Block DiagramsExperience with Profibus, Ethernet and Modbus+ communication protocolsExperience in programming servo drives and motion controllersAbility to read & interpret advanced electrical schematicsStrong problem solving skills including Root Cause Analysis, 8D, FMEA, DMAICLean manufacturing and six sigma skills such as 6S, Kanban, Poka-Yoke, VSM, etc.Prysmian, as an Equal Opportunity Employer, aims to attract and recruit individuals with diverse backgrounds, skills, and abilities.
