Position: Workday Security Administrator (Senior HRIS Analyst)Location: Raleigh, NC | OnsiteThis position oversees the security framework within Workday, ensuring proper setup, governance, and continuous improvement. The administrator will build and manage security roles and permissions, safeguard data accuracy, and partner with HR, IT, and leadership to refine workflows and security practices. The role also supports audits, documentation, and ongoing enhancements tied to Workday functionality.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESConfigure, adjust, and maintain security roles, access levels, and security groups in alignment with company policies.Develop and uphold security standards and operational guidelines.Investigate and resolve user access issues and other security-related problems.Partner with HR, IT, and business leaders to turn security requirements into actionable system solutions.Provide documentation and support for SOX compliance, including change and access management.Maintain detailed documentation related to configurations, processes, and issue resolutions.Analyze unexpected system behavior or workflow issues and recommend improvements.Offer internal support for reporting, dashboards, data access questions, and system troubleshooting.Assist with project coordination for HR initiatives, including new program rollouts or updates.Ensure accuracy and consistency of Workday data; participate in audits and cleanup of permission structures.Stay informed on Workday and HRIS best practices; engage in Workday Community activities and training opportunities.Document and maintain change management processes and configuration updates.Contribute to Workday enhancement and migration efforts as needed.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree plus 5+ years of experience in HR, HRIS, or related environments.Minimum 3 years of hands-on Workday exposure across modules such as HCM, Benefits, Absence, Time Tracking, Security, and Reporting.3–5 years’ experience configuring and implementing Workday security, including business process security and integration-based security groups.At least 2 years of data or statistical analysis experience; strong skills in Report Writer, calculated fields, dashboards, and advanced Excel.Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment and making judgment calls based on business priorities.Strong capabilities in designing custom security groups, setting up domain permissions, and managing security policies.Experience configuring SSO, authentication rules, and MFA.Deep understanding of role-based and user-based security models and how to structure access in scalable ways.Experience with Workday EIBs, including building templates, populating data, and performing loads (advanced Excel required).Workday Security certification is a plus.Strong problem-solving, debugging, and technical analysis skills.Excellent documentation habits and project coordination skills.Experience handling sensitive and confidential information.Consulting background is beneficial.Strong verbal and written communication skills.
