Job Description
DescriptionChubb is currently seeking a Workers Compensation Medical Only Claim Manager for our Northeast New York and New Jersey Region. The successful applicant will be managing a team of examiners who handle workers compensation medical only claims and provide technical assistance for the venues of Vermont New Hampshire Massachusetts Rhode Island Connecticut New York and New Jersey. The position will report to the Regional Claim Leader for the Northeast Workers Compensation team and will be located in our New Haven Connecticut office.Duties & Responsibilities:Ensure the delivery of timely and effective claims service through supervision of a team of examiners and technical assistants at various experience levelsTrain mentor and develop staff who are at various stages of their career and experience levelsProvide advanced technical guidance on claim investigation reserving medical case resolution and settlement strategiesActively participate in claim committees account file reviews and project teams to address internal workflows systems and compliance issuesDemonstrate advanced analytical problem-solving and negotiation skillsDevelop and maintain strong business relationships with internal and external customers to enhance Chubbs brand in the marketplacePartner with underwriting claims business consultant and claims teams to enhance and manage marketing initiatives and customer service commitmentsExhibit strong business acumen to internal and external customers by providing accurate guidance on statutes regulations coverages and service issuesEffectively control the use work product and expenses of outside vendorsCoach team toward effective collaboration with internal resources like Regional Claims Specialist regional and local nurses SIU Recovery and Claims OpsExercise leadership by conducting reviews of examiner and technical assistant work product and teamwork efforts to deliver professionally written supported performance management feedback and reviewsShow exceptional performance management skills by providing timely trainingcoaching and feedback and creating meaningful business goals and development plansModel exceptional management skills at collaboration influence strategic focus flexibility communication and accountabilityPositively influence the team environment to maintain an elevated level of employee engagementLeverage knowledge transfer and training skills for effective staff development toward their personal success and career advancementTechnical Skills & Competencies:Strong proficiency in all areas of Workers Compensation claims adjustingProven track record of using analytics to drive and improve performance and resultsIn depth knowledge of New York New Jersey and Northeastern jurisdictional nuances is necessaryElevated levels of accuracy with claim financials: benefit/bill payment coding reserves and inventory management and then impact of claims transactions on customersAdvanced understanding of Claim Best Practices and Business AnalyticsAbility to incorporate analytical data into team managementExceptional negotiation skills and resources that will influence team resultsStrong business acumen and understanding of the fundamental components of Claims Underwriting agency relationships industry strategies and trendsExtensive knowledge of insurance contracts investigation techniques legal requirements and insurance regulationExceptional oral written and presentation skills that positively influence a wide audience within and outside the Claim departmentAbility to promote open communication that fosters an environment of continual learning staff development and team collaborationRecord of success in coaching and developing staffAn ability to be flexible imaginative and to work well in teamsExceptional organizational prioritization and time management capabilitiesInnovative thinker with ability to multi-task plan and delegate appropriatelyExperience Education and Requirements:3-4 years of experience in handling Workers Compensation claimsPrior supervisory experience is a plusDemonstrates a background in leadershipProven record of successSubject matter expertise in handling claimsAbility to manage claims in multiple venues and within compliance standardsAIC RMA or CPCU completed coursework or designation(s) are a plusFull proficiency with Microsoft Office Products especially ExcelIf you do not already have one you will be required to obtain an applicable resident or designated home state adjusters license and possibly additional state licensure.Required Experience:Manager Key Skills Anti Money Laundering,Accomodation,Compensation,Instrument Maintenance,Hotel Front Office,Arabic Employment Type : Full-Time Experience: years Vacancy: 1
