Client Workers' Compensation Paralegalis seeking a Workers Compensation Paralegal/Legal Assistant. The ideal applicant would have 4+ years of workers' compensation legal assistant and/or paralegal experience.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Legal assistant/paralegal must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to type 50- 60 wpm, and it would be an advantage if you have working knowledge of Client Profiles/Aderant or a similar case management system.
  • This candidate must be eager to work with very busy attorneys, be self-motivated, and have a great attitude.
  • Ability to handle high volume practice.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Preparation of pleadings including, but not limited to, motions, subpoenas, notices, hearings, and requests for production.
  • Coordination/scheduling of meetings, hearings, appointments, and depositions.
  • Managing deadlines, preparing attorneys for appointments.
  • Drafting and composing typing routine correspondence, reading and routing of incoming mail, taking calls from clients, attorneys, adjusters, J.A.'s, opposing counsel, etc.
  • Excellent organizational, secretarial and clerical skills (telephone & computer) required.
  • Three years minimum experience.
  • Experience with Aderant/Client Profiles programs preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence. Bi-lingual (Spanish) is preferred, however not required.
  • Organized, self-motivated, with the ability to work independently with a great attitude.
  • Good communication and customer service skills (must be professional and courteous).
  • Work Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with a 1-hour break for lunch.
