University of Colorado Anschutz Medical CampusDepartment:Department of Medicine Cardiovascular and Pulmonary ResearchJob Title:Working Retiree ORPPosition: # Requisition: #38489This position is internal to University of Colorado ORP retirees.Job Summary:Key Responsibilities:Conduct mechanistic studies focused on molecular and cellular drivers of cardiac and vascular dysfunction particularly related to proteomic regulation and post-translational modification of sarcomeric proteins.Utilize and interpret results from a variety of cardiac disease models including mechanical injury (e.g. myocardial infarction) transgenic mouse models of progressive heart failure and large animal platforms.Perform cardiomyocyte and vascular smooth muscle isolation functional assays and mechanical analyses to evaluate contractility calcium sensitivity and biomechanical responses.Apply transcriptomic and proteomic tools to identify signaling pathways biomarkers and molecular phenotypes relevant to cardiovascular disease.Conduct protein expression and localization studies using methods such as western blotting immunohistochemistry ELISA and quantitative phosphorylation analysis.Prepare and analyze RNASeq datasets and integrate transcriptomic outputs with protein-level data to support mechanistic insights.Maintain meticulous laboratory records perform data interpretation write structured reports and contribute to presentations or manuscripts as needed.Collaborate with investigators trainees and interdisciplinary teams to advance research objectives and contribute expert consultation in cardiovascular physiology.Why Join Us:The Webb Waring Center at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus focuses on fundamental investigation of the causes and consequences of inflammation antioxidant deficiency and oxidative stress.The Webb-Waring Center has a long tradition.
