OverviewThis role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit's Commercial Business Units ("Spirit Commercial"). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing's three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial's core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions. ResponsibilitiesThe Workplace Training Coaches will provide area specific (Fabrication) training and instruction for shop floor employees. We are growing and have opportunities for those who are already confident in their subject matter areas and those who want to make an impact on the success of our employees. Location: Wichita, KS Will interface with shop personnel daily and identify remedial training needs and formulate plans of delivering trainingMaintain personnel certificationsProvide classroom training as neededWork with organizations and employees on coaching activitiesDevelop and lead projectsDevelop and maintain working relationships with organizationsConduct certification training sessions, product demonstrations, and criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activitiesProvide Workplace Training as neededCollaborate with other employees of the human resources organization to assist with processes and systems to effectively attract, reward, and motivate Spirit's workforce QualificationsRequirementsMinimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in assembly and/or fabricationExperience in ordering and managing materialsProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)Working knowledge of a Learning Management System (LMS) for managing personal training activitiesStrong communication skills with a positive attitude, patience, and adaptabilityWilling to work any shift as neededSelf-motivated and able to work independentlyPreferred Qualifications13-14 years of related experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 9-10 years, or a Master's degree with 7-8 years of experienceRecognized subject matter expert with experience mentoring, training, and developing others both in-person and onlinePassion for coaching employees and helping teams succeedStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and correct process flawsSkilled in communication, computer applications, and goal setting with constructive feedbackExperience or knowledge across multiple fabrication areas such as Sheet metal, Skin Fab, and Machine FabUnderstanding of organizational quality metrics and blueprint readingQuick learner who thrives in both independent and fast-paced team environmentsUnion:This is a union-represented position. Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Summary Pay Range: $68,650 - $105,300 Kansas Tax Credit: Join Spirit AeroSystems' Kansas team and you may be eligible for a $5,000 state of Kansas Aviation tax credit for up to five years.
