Title: X-ray Sr Technol SpecDepartment Org: Vascular Lab - 109200Employee Classification: B5 - Unclass Full Time AFSCME HSCBargaining Unit:AFSCME HSCPrimary Location: HSC HShift:1Start Time:7:00am End Time:17:30pmPosted Salary:Float: bOther1Rotate: bOther2On Call: bOther3Travel: bOther4Weekend/Holiday: bOther5Job Description:As a member of the Health Care Team under the direction of the Attending physician provides technical assistance by scrubbing and or monitoring a variety of Cardiac/ Vascular and Neuro diagnostic and interventional procedures. Participates in maintenance of lab equipment materials supplies and ordering processes.All employees must adhere to the following at all times: Employee is expected to adhere to UTMC Service Values including iCare standards at all times. Adheres to hospital policies and procedures as well as addresses patient safety performance improvement and quality of care issues. 1. Adheres to all radiation safety issues by wearing badges lead and recording length of exposure to patients.2. Adheres to NPSG 07.01.01 by effectively washing hands when going from one patient to the next. Knowledgeable about patient safety and quality of care issues. Able to recognize safety issues in the department and handles incidents per institutional and/or departmental policies and procedures. If safety issues were identified; all issues were handled timely and appropriately. Department education and training focus has a direct impact on patient safety and reduces unsafe working conditions for employees. Employee attends and follows all department specific safety education and training in an effort to create a safe work environment. 1. Recognizes Frayed Cord: Reports equipment dysfunction in timely manner. Make sure alternate process is in place and action is taken. Reduces adverse results or impact to patient care and the employee. 2. Recognize exposure to Blood: Worked as a team to limit exposure and create a safe work environment. Safety concerns: The manager has been timely with staff training and education. Wiping up spills. 3. Follows standardized approach for handoff communicationFollows policy and Standard of Care for communication including the opportunity to ask and respond to questionsMinimum Qualifications:Qualifications/Knowledge Skills & Abilities (Indicate minimum required to qualify or perform this job.)Required Education/Experience/Licensing:1) Satisfactory completion of formal radiological technology training in an AMA-approved school. 2) Must be licensed in the State of Ohio3) AART registered.4) Minimum of 2 years experience in special procedures and cardiovascular procedures required.5) Assume on-call responsibilities.6) Must hold current CPR certification.7) Physical requirements: a) visual acuity of 20/20 or corrected to 20/20 including color vision when applicable; b) ability to hear (with or without aides)c) ability to orally communicated) good manual dexteritye) ability to push pull roll and transfer/lift 50 pounds occasionallyf) ability to stand walk frequentlyg) ability to bend reach stoop kneel frequently; and h) ability to perform CPR (if a required for position).(Definitions: Never 0% Occasional 0-33% Frequent 34-66% Constant 67-100%)Communication and other skills:1. Exhibits accuracy integrity and flexibility; is punctual and dependable.2. Possesses organizational problem-solving and critical thinking skills.3.
