Yard Driver

As a Yard Driver, you will be responsible for maintaining yard organization and safely spotting trailers at dock doors and throughout the yard. CDL licensed Yard Drivers may be asked to move trailers to offsite locations and neighboring distribution centers. In this role, you will also update trailer moves or any yard activity via a hand-held device.

Key responsibilities include conducting daily inspections on yard equipment, driving yard trucks and spotting at designated locations, and ensuring yard accuracy by leveraging the Yard Management System.

This position reports to the Operations Manager and has no direct reports. There are no travel requirements for this role.

Physical requirements include intermittent periods of continuous physical exertion such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward. Working conditions usually involve a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort from such things as dust, fumes or odors. Travel between locations is required.

Minimum qualifications include being legally permitted to work in the United States, being 21 years of age or older, holding a valid, active Commercial Driver's License, and having the ability to load and unload heavy items.

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED are required for minimum education. No additional education is preferred. Minimum years of work experience required is 1, with no preferred years of experience. No minimum or preferred leadership experience is required. No certifications are needed.
