Job Overview: The Lumberyard Load Builder at the Marvin Home Center isresponsible for preparing and loading materials onto deliveryvehicles, ensuring accurate orders, safe handling, and efficientloading processes. They work in a fast-paced environment, ofteninteracting with customers and fellow employees, while maintaininga clean and organized lumberyard. Highlightsof your role: Loading andUnloading: Accurately pulling and staging materials based on orderinstructions, loading trucks, and unloadingshipments.Material Handling: Utilizing proper techniques to preventdamage, ensuring materials are properly secured for transport, andoperating machinery likeforklifts.Inventory Management: Familiarity with inventory items,their location, and assistance with incomingshipments.Customer Service: Assisting customers with loading theirown materials, answering questions, and resolvingissues.Safety and Maintenance: Adhering to safety and fireregulations, maintaining a clean and organized work area, andreporting accidents andviolations.Communication and Teamwork: Communicating withsupervisors and drivers, coordinating with other team members, andreporting any issues orcomplaints. You're a good fit ifyou have (or if you can): Ability to safely and proficiently use various tools(chop saw, table saw,etc.).Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (over 100lbs).Familiarity withdifferent lumber species, grades, anddimensions.Knowledge of material handling techniques and forkliftoperation.Physical stamina and ability to work in various weatherconditions.Strong communication and customer serviceskills.Ability to follow instructions and workindependently.A willingness to learn and adapt to changingconditions.
