DescriptionDivision/Unit:Community Partnerships Unit Civil Service Title: Community Service AidePosition Title:DANY Youth AmbassadorSalary Range:$17.00/hr - $17.00/hrJob Description:The New York County District Attorneys Office (DANY) has openings for the 2026 Youth Ambassador Program. This enriching and paid program provides Manhattan youth with an insiders view of the criminal justice system where they can learn about the Manhattan District Attorneys Office and its role in the criminal justice system. DANY Youth Ambassadors will also have a platform to voice their ideas about how we can best serve their community. Participants will engage in workshops and discussions community volunteer days work on projects and lead a culminating youth event. Ultimately the Youth Ambassadors will become part of DANYs network of youth leaders who amplify the voices and input of our younger community and will be paid minimum wage for their contributions.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Meet every Monday and Wednesday afternoon in person for two hours (from 4:30 pm 6:30 pm).Participate in one or two community events per month (most likely on Saturdays).Learn about the role of a District Attorney and the Criminal Justice System in Manhattan.Participate in assigned reading and cohort discussions.Recommend potential solutions to public safety issues prevalent in their assigned communities.Coordinate a DANY youth-led culminating event.EligibilityApplicantsmustreside in Manhattan.Applicantsmustbe 16 19 years old.How to Apply:We will select two ambassadors from six communities in Manhattan.
