Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob PurposeResponsible for providing interventions to youth in the Day Treatment Program for the purpose of helping them remain in the school, community and in the home.QualificationsStaff shall meet at least one of the following criteria: Occupational Therapist; Physical Therapist; Assistant Behavior Analyst; ORIndividual with a bachelor’s degree in child development, psychology, social work or education; ORIndividual with an associate degree with two (2) years’ experience in related mental health or child related fields; ORIndividual with two (2) years of college and two (2) years’ experience in related mental health or child related fields. Valid driver’s license for current State of residence, Class E for Missouri driver’s license, or equivalent for State of staff’s residence, and current auto insurance. Core Job DutiesAttend to the needs of and provide assistance to youth during day treatment activities and within the community, under the direction of the Director. Give feedback regarding behavior, skills, and peer interactions during treatment team meetings. Teach skills and model appropriate pro-social interactions based on youth’s individual treatment plan. Provide complete and timely documentation as per policy and procedures. Provide care to youth in a manner that promotes safety, comfort, and a therapeutic environment based on trauma informed approach. Assist with facilitating family activities, as directed by the Therapist/Director.Responsible for transporting clients (youth) in agency and/or personal vehicle as deemed necessary and appropriate to meet program requirements. Work with an integrated treatment team, including Care Coordinator, Therapist, Psychiatrists, and the school’s administrative staff to provide consistent care. Intervene in behavioral health crisis situations, when needed, which may include use of restraint interventions in accordance with CPI guidelines to prevent self-harm or harm to others.Based on need, provide restraint interventions in accordance with CPI guidelines and agency policy and procedure.Maintain certification in CPI and CPR/First Aid.Adherence to all applicable evidence-based practice models. Orally communicate information effectively and accurately. Assure program operates within the constraints of the agency’s certification (CARF, DMH) standards and strategic plan related to clinical care. Abide by program and agency policies and procedures.Other job duties and special projects as assigned.
