DescriptionZach Gordon Youth Services is looking for a Youth Development Leader II to work after school with youth at Cedar Park orGeneva Woods in Douglas.WHO WE ARE LOOKING FORWe are looking for someone who is dedicated to Juneaus youth and families. Someone who is interested in program development that is creative fun and place based. We are looking for someone who is excited to support and connect with families by hosting a monthly family night and communicating with families about upcoming activities and events. We are looking for someone who is a self-starter organized and has a sense of humor about things. WORKING HOURS AND LOCATIONThis posting is for one (1) part time position. Work will coincide with the Juneau School District calendar.Typical ResponsibilitiesYou will be helping us run grant funded afterschool program! In this position you will be working directly with youth providing on-site programming 18.75 hours a week at either Geneva Woods or Cedar Park. This will include monthly family nights field trips and ongoing support of youth. The position is responsible for creating an overall safe and engaging space for youth.Minimum QualificationsEducation:Graduation from high school or the equivalent;Andany combination of work experience or post-secondary education totaling six (6) months in any field. Substitute: Two (2) courses from an accredited college in a human related field may substitute for experienceOther:A valid drivers license at time of appointmentis preferred but not required.First Aid and CPR certification within 30 days of appointmentNote: Under Alaska Statute 12.62.160 (9) Appointments to this position are offered conditionally pending the results of a criminal records report (Non-FBI). Human Resources evaluates the results to ensure the applicant does not have any convictions that result in a direct nexus to the primary duties involving supervising minors.
